Wednesday, Yavapai County Superior Court Judge Tina Ainley sentenced 44-year old Robert David Pearsall III of Prescott to 28-years in prison for attempted first degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault. In 2018 at remote camping area called Bear Siding, Pearsall approached a man he did not know and struck him repeatedly over the head with a large 2 x 2 construction board causing serious injuries. Pearsall, who was out on bond at the time of the trial, fled two days before the jury returned their guilty verdict. He was on the run for the past two years before being captured in Payson, in July.
