Monday evening, Copper Canyon Fire responded to a vehicle fire involving a semi pulling a trailer full of hay. Crews arrived to find the stack of hay the semi was pulling completely involved in fire. Burning hay began to fall onto the northbound lanes of the I-17, causing a closure for a brief time. Two quick attack hose lines were deployed to assist in attacking the fire and protecting the semi. It took crews about 20-minutes to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
