Jerome Fire respond to 9 rattlesnake removal calls this month

Jerome Fire Chief Rusty Blair says the department responded to 3-rattlesnake removal calls Monday for a total of 9 removals this month. Blair says if you encounter a rattlesnake do not touch it, call 911 immediately. Keep your dogs on leashes while walking them on trails or in areas with tall grass. Check shoes, dark spaces, outdoor containers, pots, and any other small space as there could be something inside. Again, if you do encounter a rattlesnake, call 911.
