Flagstaff offering free residential food scraps drop-off service

Flagstaff’s Sustainability Office launched a pilot program in July that seeks to advance the city’s Rethink Waste Plan and Carbon Neutrality goals through a free compost drop-off service. Officials say through June 2022, community members can drop off food scraps and other acceptable materials at The Market of Dreams and Flagstaff Community Market on a weekly basis. Both booth locations are staffed by compost experts to educate participants and weigh, sort, and transport materials to several small-scale farms in and around Flagstaff. Visit the city website for more information.
