Flagstaff ensures residents of Flagstaff Village Apartments can stay put until the end of the year

Flagstaff recently heard from residents of Flagstaff Village Apartments that because the apartment complex was being redeveloped, all month-to-month tenants needed to vacate their units by the end of September and no other leases would be extended. The city reached out to Park-7 Group, the new property owner regarding the change. The property owner listened to the concerns and indicated a desire to be a community partner and provide flexibility where possible. Park-7 Group has committed that any resident of Flagstaff Village Apartments with a lease ending before December 31-st can contact the property manager to obtain an extension of their lease through December 31-st. Park-7 Group stated that no further extensions beyond that deadline will be granted.

  1. This is the city’s action to advocate for now, and probably what could legally happen since the sale already passed. We hope not to have issues with the management with people requesting an extension. Some neighbors are still wondering how to get assistance from new management for any maintenance concerns, and wondering if we’ll get charged more by Park-7, or if there were any regulation changes. More thoughts and actions likely to come.

  2. Park7 Group is the definition of corporate greedy they hide behind the facade of “student housing,” while using that as an opportunity to take advantage of young adults. They allow harassment, threats of violence, assault, and stalking to go unchecked and without consequence. They do not provide a safe living space for college students. The management team is unprofessional and callous. They use gaslighting as a tactic to convince tenants it is just a typical “roommate issue.” They assess ridiculous fees and utility bills are excessive. Prior news reports exist of non payment of their construction team and there are petitions to remove existing property managers at the Orono location that continue to be ignored. They are a slumlord dressed in mediocre construction quality and amenities. Their background checks are subpar.
