Monsoon rains pushed back to early next week

The National Weather Service in Flagstaff canceled the Excessive Heat Warning for elevations below 4,000-feet for today and tomorrow. The only exception is the bottom of the Grand Canyon and far western Arizona. Forecasters say very warm and mostly dry weather will continue through Friday across northern Arizona with temperatures cooling a bit this weekend. Isolated showers and thunderstorms gradually return through Sunday mostly over the White Mountains and south of the Mogollon Rim. Storm chances return to all of northern Arizona next week. Currently there’s a 30% chance of showers Monday with a 40% chance Tuesday and Wednesday.
