Lake Powell Water Levels dropping quickly/No more houseboat launches from Wahweap

Effective immediately, no houseboats can be launched from Wahweap Main Launch Ramp at Lake Powell due to low lake levels. Houseboat retrievals are possible utilizing the boiler plate temporary extensions, but with current rate of water loss, only 60-feet of temporary boiler plate will remain by this Saturday. Glen Canyon National Recreation Area projects that at a lake elevation of about 3,551-feet the Wahweap Main Launch Ramp will likely become unusable for all motorized watercraft. The park continues to monitor water level fluctuations and investigate alternative options for boat launching.
