Sunday afternoon, Sedona Fire responded to Oak Creek Canyon near Halfway Campground for a hiker who suffered a fall. Fire Marshall Jon Davis says crews located the hiker down by the creek and extricated him out of the area and back to the highway. He was then transported to Flagstaff Medical Center for treatment. Davis says the Coconino, Kaibab, Prescott, Tonto and Apache Sitgreaves National Forests are completely closed to the public due to fire danger. State Lands are also closed. Violators could be fined up to $5,000 and up to 6-months in prison, or both.
