Authorities ordered additional evacuations and closed several stretches of highways in south-central Arizona as hundreds of firefighters battle two wildfires that are growing in gusty winds and triple digit temperatures east of Phoenix. Evacuations were ordered Sunday for the Top-of-The-World area along Highway-60, about 10-miles northeast of Superior. The highway is closed from Superior to Miami, along with Highway-177 from Superior to Winkelman and Highway-77 from Winkelman to Globe. About 150-firefighters are battling the fire, which had charred over 41,000-acres as of last night and was 0% contained. The human caused fire broke out Friday afternoon. Crews are also working the Mescal Fire in the same general area. It’s burned over 49,600-acres and is 8% contained. It started burning on June 1-st.
