Prescott Fire rescue hiker near Lynx Lake

Thursday afternoon, Prescott Fire responded to an elderly man who passed out while hiking near Lynx Lake. Spokesman Jeff Jones says the hiker’s wife stated she was on Trail-305 between Walker Road and Lynx Lake. Crews hiked in and made contact with the 87-year old hiker who was showing symptoms consistent with dehydration. The man was extricated from the trail via a Stokes basket then transported to YRMC for further evaluation. Jones says it’s very important bring more water than you think you would need, a charged cell phone, clothes appropriate for the situation and snacks, before hiking.
