On Wednesday, Prescott Valley Police’s Animal Control Unit received a call for a possibly injured Great Horned Owl found at a local business. Spokesman Jerry Ferguson says Animal Control Supervisor Tim Yogerst, responded to Yvonne’s Pet Grooming to assess and pick up the bird. Yogerst transported the owl to the Prescott Valley Police Department where it was cared for until a rescue organization could be contacted and respond. Wild at Heart Inc. Raptor Rescue responded to the Police Department to pick up the owl for rehabilitation and relocation. Ferguson says Animal Control is encouraging citizens to call the police non-emergency number or Game and Fish when encountering lost, misplaced or injured wildlife. He says residents should not attempt to catch or interact with injured wildlife.
