Sedona Fire responded to the Bell Rock Pathways area for a hiker suffering a heat related illness Wednesday afternoon. Battalion Chief Jordan Baker says crews hiked in about a half mile to assist the hiker back to the trailhead. He says treatment was given on scene but the hiker refused transport to the hospital. Baker says with hotter weather this week it’s very important to take proper precautions before recreating outside. Drink plenty of water, wear proper clothing, bring a fully charged cell phone and tell someone where you’re going and when you’ll be back.
