Slate Fire south of Prescott nearly 100% contained

The Prescott National Forest released their final update on the Slate Fire burning about 8-miles south of Prescott. The fire was ignited by lightning last Sunday. The fire burned 3.5-acres and is 70% contained. Air resources attacked the fire shortly after it started and used water and retardant to form a barrier around it. Crews are mopping up any remaining hot-spots.
