Cottonwood Police responded to a report of a strong-armed robbery at Verde Valley Medical Center Tuesday afternoon. Sgt. Chad Sinn says the victim reported that 30-year old Nicholas Thomas of Cottonwood grabbed her purse as she was walking into the hospital. A family member of Thomas’ attempted to stop him at which time Thomas jumped into their vehicle and tried to leave in it. Sinn says the family member was ultimately able to prevent the getaway and hospital security held Thomas until officers arrived. He was booked on one count of strong-armed robbery.
