Prescott Valley police arrest two family members in domestic violence case

Prescott Valley Police were notified by YRMC staff Tuesday night, of a woman who had come to the hospital attempting to locate her father, who was not there. Spokesman Jerry Ferguson says the woman reported her father had possibly been stabbed. He says officers responded to the 4400 block of Parent Road in Prescott Valley to follow up on the information learned from YRMC. Upon arriving, officers encountered the son of the alleged victim. As the son was contacted in the yard and officers attempted to detain him, the son’s mother ran from the house towards the officers. She struck two officers while they attempted to restrain her. Both the son and mother were taken into custody. Ferguson says the son and his father were in a verbal argument when the son grabbed a knife and the father grabbed a bat. The son stabbed his father and then the mother grabbed the bat and she struck her husband in the head. Both the son and mother were jailed on assault charges. The father was treated for his injuries.
