One rescue turns into two for Sedona Fire

Sedona Fire responded to an injured hiker near the top of the AB Young trail in Oak Creek Canyon Wednesday afternoon. Crews arrived on scene and located the hiker in extremely rugged terrain. During the rescue, another hiker that was with the injured party began to make their way down the trail before they suffered a 20-foot fall. Due to their location, crews from Sedona Fire and the Coconino County Search and Rescue were able to assist in getting both patients down the trail without further injury. Both patients were transported to Sedona Emergency Center for treatment. Remember it’s very important to take proper precautions before heading out on a hike. Bring extra water, food, and clothing for the possibility of changing weather.
