YCSO captured the Bensch Ranch burglary suspect. Spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says the first burglary occurred on August 30-th and surveillance photos of the suspect were released. He says deputies returned to the same area Sunday morning for two reports of attempted burglaries at the same ranch at which time they found the suspects truck. He says one deputy spotted the suspect and a foot pursuit ensued. A deputy posted on high ground saw the suspect run up a hill north of Bensch Ranch Road. The deputy parked at the west end of Rough Rider Ridge as the suspect was hiking through some brush. The deputy was able to intercept the fleeing suspect and held him at gunpoint. The suspect was cooperative at this time and taken into custody. D’Evelyn says stolen property was found in 23-year old Damian Hayes’ vehicle and person. The Mayer man was jailed on felony burglary charges. Hayes is also wanted in New Mexico and Kentucky.
