The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors is trying to clear up some confusion when it comes to the proposed 18% property tax increase. County spokesman David McAtee says many people think this will raise their entire property tax by 18%, but that is not the case. He says the total amount you pay in property taxes does not go to Yavapai County. Yavapai County Primary Property Tax is only about 17% of the total property taxes you pay each year. Everyone’s property taxes are different based on their properties assessed value and based on what other taxing authorities exist where the property is owned. The County provided some graphics to better explain the increase; they’re posted on our news page at myradioplace.com
