Lightning sparks wildfire in Sedona- Fire officials remind citizens to be lightning safe.

Recently, Sedona Fire responded to a lightning strike fire near Dry Creek Road. Officials say with the unsettled weather this week there is a chance of thunderstorms each day through Saturday. Sedona Fire is reminding citizens to be lightning safe by checking the forecast before planning outdoor activities, staying out of all water-indoors and outdoors- as it can conduct electricity and waiting at least 30 minutes after you last saw lightning or heard thunder before returning outside. If caught outside in a storm, officials say to stay as far away from trees as you can. Remember, “If thunder roars go indoors!”
