Drivers on Smoketree Lane in Prescott will notice a change in road markings in front of Prescott Fire Station-74. Spokesman Conrad Jackson says they’re trying to get people to slow down and notice fire-vehicles and firefighters. He says Sunday, a vehicle drove behind the engine as it backing into the bay, despite the engine having its emergency lights on and backing sideways across the roadway. Jackson says the new markings are in addition to signs that direct traffic to stop when an emergency vehicle is in the area backing up. In addition the fire trucks emergency lights are on during these close calls. The fine for failing to yield is $190.
