Prescott Police are investigating a homicide at a home in the 600 block of Country Club Drive. Lead Officer Dave Fuller says Tuesday a concerned citizen reported that he had not seen 77-year old Sandra Aven in quite some time. Fuller says officers located Aven’s Granddaughter, 24-year old Briar Aven who said her Grandmother was out of town and unavailable. Aven and her mother, 46-year old Tara Aven live adjacent to the missing woman. Several inconsistencies were noted in the story that Briar provided. Tara was contacted as well and provided more inconsistent information, which caused Officers to enter into the residence to check on the victim. Fuller says officers found a body of an obviously deceased person, who has yet to be identified. He says during interviews, the Avens confessed to killing Sandra Aven in late 2017 and has been cashing her monthly payment checks.
