Prescott and Central Arizona Fire both respond to the scene of a structure fire.

Just after 9 am this morning, Prescott Fire Department and Central Arizona Fire responded to a structure fire in the 1500 block of East Butterfield Road in Prescott.  Central Arizona Fire Marshal Rick Chase says crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a single family residence with an attached garage and carport.  Three people, who were home at the time, had all escaped safely. Chase says the investigation discovered the origin of the fire was the living room, but the exact cause is unknown at this time.  He says though there was some structural damage, the home may not be a total loss. Chase says crews did a great job at keeping the fire from getting into nearby trees and vegetation, especially during the high winds.
