Early this morning, Jerome Fire was dispatched for a gasoline truck versus natural gas meter in the 600 block of Main Street. Chief Rusty Blair says the gas truck’s rear wheels had gone off the retaining wall, destroying the sidewalk handrail and hitting the front porch of a structure. Blair says the fuel truck also spilled gasoline for about a thousand feet. He says fire crews were able to secure the natural gas line, use foam to clean up the gas spill and control traffic while Unisource installed a new meter.
