The center of low pressure for the current storm system was centered over southern California this morning, just beginning to push eastward. For the remainder of today the low will accelerate eastward moving across southern Arizona. In advance, a broad band of precipitation extending from north to south across the eastern half of the state will slowly head eastward, moving into New Mexico by early afternoon. However, a bit of moisture will likely keep showers going into the early evening hours for much of the area. The snow level will remain quite low, ranging from 2500 feet over northwest Arizona to 3500 feet across the northeast to east portion of the state. Still decent snow accumulations through today with many locations seeing additional snow of 1-to-5-inches. Locations such as Washington Park and Forest Lakes eastward to Show Low, McNary, Alpine and the White Mountains could see an additional 6-to-12-inches of snowfall. From Saturday onward, we’ll see dry conditions and temperatures return to normal for this time of year.
