Fire specialists from the Tonto National Forest will be burning debris piles Monday through Thursday on 73 acres just north of Payson on the west side of Hwy 87. Smoke may linger in the area through Friday. To minimize the impact of smoke, fire experts will burn segments of 20 acres or less at a time and will end ignitions by 1 pm each day.
