Domestic violence suspect crashes into Prescott PD car

On February 4, 2019 at approximately 4:36 PM Prescott Police Officers responded to a domestic related argument in the 900 block of Audrey Lane.  Prior to police arrival, the subject later identified as Henry W. Hobson a 42 year old Prescott man, left the area in a black 2006 Audi.

A short time later, the vehicle was located and stopped at Sun St and Audrey Ln.  Hobson refused to comply with Officers and left the area again.

A short pursuit ensued and the suspect drove down a dead end street then made a U-turn and drove directly towards the Officers.  The suspect completely swerved around one fully marked police car and then collided into a second one, in the 200 Block of Madison.  This resulted in major damage, likely totaling the suspect’s car and the Police vehicle.

Hobson refused to comply with Officers directions and wouldn’t exit his vehicle.  Due to the events, non-compliance of the suspect and his threatening statements, the Prescott Police Department SWAT team was called.  Responding members engaged Hobson and deployed less than lethal pepper balls into his vehicle.  He ultimately exited his vehicle and continued to disobey commands.  He was then tased and taken into custody.

The heavily intoxicated suspect was treated at the scene by PFD for minor injuries.  No Officers or bystanders were injured.

The investigation is ongoing and will result in Hobson being booked and charged with numerous crimes.
