YCSO is investigating a fatal vehicle versus cow crash that occurred in Seligman Wednesday night. Spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says the victim is identified as 54-year old John Travers of Seligman. Deputies and medical personnel confirmed the driver was deceased at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet and suffered severe head trauma. Residents in the area reported seeing the motorcycle travelling at high speed on Fort Rock Road just prior to hearing a loud crash. D’Evelyn says initial indications are that Travers was overdriving the range of the headlight’s and did not see the cows until it was too late to stop or avoid hitting them. Alcohol may have been a factor. Travers’ body was released to the Medical Examiner.
