Between the hours of 3 AM and 6 AM on January 15th, an unknown suspect or suspects cut a hole in the rear exterior wall of the Family Dollar store, in the 19,000 block of Hitching Post Way, Cordes Lakes. YCSO spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says once inside, the suspect attempted to force entry into the safe but was not successful. D’Evelyn says after stealing items kept behind the checkout counter along with some of the video surveillance equipment, the suspect left through the emergency door which set off an alarm. Deputies and detectives discovered a suspect’s shoe impressions outside and tracked them back to the vicinity of the Cordes Junction Motel in the 19700 block of Hitching Post Way.
