For the next 3-to-4-weeks, the White Spar Trailhead and associated trails in the Prescott area will be closed as contractors continue work on the Schoolhouse Stewardship Project. Prescott National Forest spokesperson Debbie Maneely says heavy equipment will be operating in the area and there will be increased truck traffic. She says measures are being taken to protect the trails from damage. Until mechanical operations are concluded, which should be in March, Forest Managers recommend visitors take advantage of recreational opportunities within the Copper Basin or Spence Basin trail systems.
