Yavapai County is currently moving forward with the next step in making the Verde Connector Project a reality. The project calls for a bridge over the Verde River with a road that connects Highway-260 with eventually Cornville Road. The county received a $25-million grant in December for the bridge. County Supervisor Tom Thurman says they’re currently narrowing down routes for the road. Thurman says a study group has narrowed the list of potential routes for the road to 4 or 5. He says public meetings will be held, possibly in late February, to gather public feedback on the routes after which the NEPA process can begin.
