Flagstaff Police conducting Train Traffic Safety Campaign.

The Flagstaff Police Department has begun conducting a three month long Traffic Safety Campaign related to trains. Officials say since 1882, trains have been catastrophic for pedestrians and vehicles alike. The enforcement is focusing on: motorists stopping on railroad tracks, motorists making U-turns on a railroad track or at the railroad crossing, motorists and pedestrians going through, around, over, and under gates while the gate is down. Officials say this enforcement campaign is aimed at reducing crashes and pedestrian injuries associated with railroad crossings, and violators should expect to receive citations for violations.
