Sedona Fire would like to remind residents to make sure woodstove chimneys are swept out and fireplaces cleaned before winter heating use begins. Fire Marshal Jon Davis says every year firefighters respond to several chimney fires. He says chimney fires can turn into full residential fires very easily. Inspecting your flue annually will alert you to buildup and any damage that could be occurring from continued use.
