An Ash Fork woman was sentenced to life in prison for her role in the death of a 6-year old boy. Lillian Hester was sentenced Tuesday, after being found guilty of murder and child abuse in the death of Jason Hester. In June of 2015, the boy was found unresponsive in the home of Hester, his aunt and primary caretaker. Coconino County Sheriff’s Office and Kaibab Estates Fire personnel responded and attempted to revive the boy, but he was later pronounced dead at FMC. The Medical Examiner found the boy only weighed 29 pounds at the time of his death, and showed signs of bruises and abrasions. The medical examiner ruled the cause of death as undetermined but noted there were findings suspicious of child neglect. Also charged in this case are Kimmy Wilson, Jason Conlee and Lenda Hester.
