Remnants of another hurricane may impact the state by the end of the week. The National Weather Service in Bellemont says the cold front that brought rain and snow over the weekend will hang on through the day today and then be gone by tomorrow. Clear skies are in the forecast Wednesday, with showers and thunderstorms moving back in by Thursday. Remnants of Hurricane Sergio is expected to impact the southern half of the state, with some of that moisture making its way north. The northern half of the state will see a good chance of showers and thunderstorms from Thursday afternoon through Saturday. Meteorologists say the current models show the White Mountains receiving the heaviest precipitation. Snowfall should be confined to the highest mountain peaks.
