DPS responded to a double fatal crash on eastbound I-40 near Winslow Saturday afternoon. Officials say a vehicle headed westbound left the interstate, traveled through the median and then collided with an eastbound vehicle. The vehicle that caused the crash then rolled; both the driver and passenger were killed in the crash. The driver is identified as 90-year old Rolf Knierim; the passenger was 89-year old Hildegard Knierim, both of California. The people in the vehicle the Knierim’s collided with suffered minor injuries.
