Friday evening, the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office received a call for help in the Antelope Valley area, from a woman being attacked by a large cow. The woman said the cow had pinned her on the ground and was continually pressing her if she made attempts to get away. The responding deputy located the female in an open field and made several attempts to get the cow to move away. The deputy then tried scaring the cow with the noise of a taser but it was ineffective, so he made contact on the cow with a stun gun. That allowed the woman to get away, however, the cow then turned its attention to the deputy and charged him, forcing him to the ground and stepping on him. The deputy continued drive stunning the cow on the head with the taser until the cow ran away. The woman and the deputy received only minor injuries. Sheriff K.C. Clark stated he “is grateful that the woman and the deputy were not seriously hurt.” Adding that “Recently there has been a lot of weird cow activity in Navajo County”.
