An Avondale woman was killed in a single vehicle crash on southbound I-17 Sunday night near the Sunset Point Rest Area. DPS says at 7:35-pm the person towing a flatbed trailer with a pickup on the trailer, lost control of the vehicle, rolling it. The passenger was ejected from the vehicle and flown to a Phoenix area hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as 59-year old Nancy Young. The driver, who was not identified, was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The crash forced the closure of the interstate for several hours, creating a 5-to-6-mile backup in traffic.
