Tuesday afternoon, a 39-year old man sustained serious injuries after being run over by a City of Prescott vehicle at the intersection of Sheldon and Rush Streets. Prescott Police Lead Officer Dave Fuller says the City vehicle was making a right-turn onto Sheldon Street when the bicyclist, who was travelling westbound against traffic on the sidewalk, attempted to cross in front of the truck as it was turning. Fuller says the 48-year old driver apparently did not see the bicyclist and turned, running over the rider. The bicyclist, a Yavapai College student, suffered serious head, ankle and leg injuries and was flown to a Phoenix area hospital. No names were released.
