Two lightning-caused fires ignited on the Chino Valley Ranger District in the Prescott National Forest

Wednesday afternoon, two small lightning-caused fires ignited on the Chino Valley Ranger District in the Prescott National Forest. The Railroad Fire is burning approximately 30 miles north east of Prescott and west of Sycamore Wilderness. The fire is being monitored by firefighters. The Humphrey Fire, located just east of Humphrey Wash and south of Cross U Ranch was reported as a single tree on fire.  Due to its proximity to Cross U Ranch firefighters took action to contain and secure the fire. Crews are also monitoring the Stubbs fire, which has burned more than 800 acres northwest of Prescott.
