Smokey conditions likely through the weekend

Smokey conditions could continue through the weekend as Coconino National Forest fire crews work to suppress two lightning sparked fires near Munds Park. Burnout operations began Wednesday on the Chimney Fire northwest of Munds Park and the Bristow Fire, located to the southeast of the community. Smoke is impacting Munds Park, I-17, Sedona and the Verde Valley. Crews are also conducting burnout operations on the Deer Fire northeast of Kehl Springs Campground and the Seep Fire northwest of Humphrey’s Peak. There are currently 17 wildfires burning in the state; some are being used for management purposes.
