An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect from 10-am today to 8-pm tomorrow for the lower elevations of Yavapai County to the southwest portion of the state. An Excessive Heat Warning means that a prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures will occur. Yavapai County Emergency Management and the Yavapai County Community Health Services is urging residents to take the necessary steps to prepare and stay cool as temperatures approach 105+ this week. Temperatures this high can put people at risk for heat-related injuries or medical complications, especially if they are young, elderly, or have underlying medical conditions such as heart disease. If you are not able to keep your residence cool, you should consider heading to an air-conditioned building until temperatures drop in the evening. Emergency Management and the Yavapai County Community Health Services, encourages everyone to share this information and to check on neighbors, especially those who are elderly and live alone.
