Up to $150,000 in improvements to the terminal at Prescott Municipal Airport are planned as the city considers replacing the 70-year old building. The planned work includes building a new baggage-claim area, moving the check-in counter to provide space for additional seating, and making changes in technology and access for people with disabilities. Airport Director Robin Sobotta said the planned improvements would be interim measures. Prescott’s current budget includes $450,000 for the design of a new terminal. A final decision by the U.S. Department of Transportation is pending. The City Council recently recommended that SkyWest Airlines be chosen as the city’s next commercial air carrier. SkyWest proposed flying 50-seat jets to LA and Denver. (Thanks to AP)
