Now that the monsoon season is here, local authorities are reminding everyone to stay informed of the latest weather conditions and to never cross flooded roadways. They say every year numerous rescues are made across the State that involve vehicles that did not follow warning signs and barricades. A CDC report states more than half of all flood-related deaths occur in a vehicle, and that the next highest percentage of flood-related drownings is due to walking into or near flood waters. They say people often underestimate the force and power of water. Remember “Turn around, don’t drown”.
