Tuesday evening, Cottonwood Police responded to 700 block of North Main Street for an argument between neighbors that turned violent. Sgt. Monica Kuhlt 56-year old Jeffrey Montgomery attacked the victim when the victim asked Montgomery to quiet down outside. Montgomery left the area and said he would be back with a gun to shoot the victim. Officers arrived on scene to find Montgomery approaching the victim’s residence with a straight blade knife in his hand. When he saw the police he tried to hide the knife behind a shed. Kuhlt says Montgomery was jailed on charges of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
