Central Arizona Fire and Medical responded to multiple calls for fires on Sunday. Just after 2 am crews responded to a structure fire on the 5000 block of Ranger Road in Prescott Valley. Fire Marshal Rick Chase says crews looked and found a resident had extinguished the fire with a garden hose. Remained on scene to check with thermal camera and insure the fire was out. No fire spread to the interior or surrounding structures.Chase says crews returned again later in the day for a grass fire in the 4000 block. Chase says the fire had spread to a fence and was threatening nearby structures. He says crews were able to extinguish the fire and keep it from spreading. The cause of this fire was linked to a patio umbrella that had been blown into power lines by the wind.
