Illegal campfires and forest closures continue to be an issue on our closest National Forests. Coconino National Forest had 4-illegal campfires found this past weekend. Prescott National Forest law enforcement found 3-illegal campfires, issued 2-smoking warnings, 1-shooting citation and 3-closure violations. The public is reminded that campfires are banned across the state and some partial forest closures are in place on both the Coconino and Prescott National Forests. Before heading out, visit the website of the forest you’ll be visiting to find out what the local restrictions are and where the closures are.
