Yesterday just before 2pm, Cottonwood Fire crews responded to the 1300 block of East Gila street for a vehicle fire that spread to two homes. Officials say crews arrived to find the fire had consumed the pickup and taken hold of the eaves of the two nearby houses. One occupant and his dog were safely evacuated. Crews were able to contain the fire with minimal damage on both houses but the truck was a total loss. No injuries were reported.
