Early Monday evening, DPS responded to a motorcycle versus deer accident on 89A in Oak Creek Canyon north of Slide Rock State park. DPS Trooper Kameron Lee says a motorcycle went down after striking a deer. Lee says the male rider received injuries to his head and face even though he was wearing a helmet and protective gear. He was transferred to FMC for treatment. One lane was blocked for about an hour.
