Both the Prescott and Coconino National Forests caught people in closure areas this past weekend. Prescott National Forest recorded 5 violations of the partial closure, 5-smoking violations and 1-shooting violation. No illegal campfires were found. Coconino National Forest had 2 closure violations and 2 illegal campfires. The public is reminded to check the website of the forest they’ll be visiting before heading out. Fire restrictions and partial to full closures remain in place.
