Crews are working to repair a damaged power line and restore electricity in the Heber-Overgaard area as firefighters continue to battle brush fires that have charred 7.6 square miles in eastern Arizona. The fires that began Monday forced the closures of Highway 277 and 377 northeast of Heber. Authorities say the fires were ignited by sparks from a trailer part being dragged by a truck. Several ranches were evacuated because of the fires, which remained zero percent contained Tuesday. A shelter was opened at the Navajo County Fairgrounds in Holbrook. Electric Cooperative crews worked through the night Monday to repair the damaged line and company officials say they hope to have power restored by this evening.
